Encounter Church Barmera is a warm, multi-generational Christian church serving Barmera and the wider Riverland community. We believe people of every generation can encounter the transforming life, love and hope of Jesus.
Whether you have been part of church for years, are returning after some time away or have never attended before, you are welcome to join us this Sunday.
Our Sunday services include worship, practical Bible teaching and opportunities to connect with others from across the local community.

What to Expect
You do not need to know what to do or have everything figured out before coming to Encounter.
Our services are relaxed and welcoming, with worship, an encouraging message and space to meet others. You are welcome to participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable.
Come as you are. Our team will be ready to welcome you and help you find your way when you arrive.
Bringing Children?
Encounter eKids is available for children of primary school age, providing a safe and engaging environment where they can learn about Jesus, build friendships and have fun.
Our team can help your family with check-in when you arrive.
Parking and Access
Parking is available in the car park at the rear of the church building, with access via Sturt Street. Additional council parking is available along Barwell Avenue.
The rear entrance is wheelchair accessible, with ramps and handrails provided. The building is also equipped with an accessible toilet.

Jason Aitchison
Barmera Location Pastor
Pastor Jason & Hannah Aitchison
Pastor Jason and Hannah have recently joined Encounter Church’s Barmera Campus, bringing a heart for authentic community and transformational ministry.
With over 15 years of church ministry experience, Jason serves with a pastoral heart and a gift for building strong teams. His powerful, encouraging preaching inspires people to grow deeper in their faith, while his training as a counsellor brings valuable insight and compassion to pastoral care. His leadership across Encounter’s Bible College, property team, and pastoral ministry has shaped him into a well-rounded leader.
Hannah’s genuine warmth and kind heart create a welcoming environment where everyone feels seen, valued, and loved. Together with their two sons, Jason and Hannah embody a ministry that is deeply relational and intentionally missional—investing in community, developing leaders, and helping people encounter Jesus in life-changing ways.
